Articles on Reasons for Divorce

There are many articles on reasons for divorce, some of which we list below. But the biggest reasons people divorce tend to fall into one or more of the following categories - quality time, money, and sex.

People say that it's hard to break up, but it's even harder breaking up a marriage. All your life, you've had this vision of a dream like marriage where both of you would grow old together, and now it's falling apart around you. And divorces are harder still if kids are involved. You risk ripping them from a stable support system and home environment and putting them into an unstable and uncertain place in their lives.

The Top Three Reasons For Divorce (In no particular order):

1) According the a divorce study by Creighton University Center of Marriage and Family, one of the top reasons for divorce is a lack of quality time together. This can be for any number of reasons, from one or both partners spending too much time at work, from too much time spent taking care of the children, or simply from the two growing apart from each other. The end result is that most people don't want to live their life just wasting time. They want to have spend time, quality time, with a marriage partner that that they love. Anything less than that and it's a shell of a marriage.

2) Money is another primary reason for divorce. Usually the problem is not enough of it. We all have our own ways of handling money. But once you are married, you have to share that kind of responsibility and you have a lot of clashes when one would like saving while the other would rather spend. If you have plenty of money, this is not a problem. But where money is tight, this often becomes a real issue. Ironically, in really bad economies, lack of money is one reason that many couples remain married. Neither can afford to leave and live on their own.

3) Lastly, many couples break up because of sexual incompatibility, especially if they didn't have sex before married. The sex urge is one of the strongest urges in humans, so it's not surprising that lack of compatibility would cause so much dissatisfaction.
